Rooted in the heritage of the Buganda people since 2023.
Ewaffe Cultural Village, birthed in 2023, was inspired by Aisha Nabwanika's desire to create a space where both locals and visitors can experience authentic Ugandan traditions in a simple, welcoming, and interactive way. Having witnessed how much of Uganda's cultural knowledge — especially storytelling, traditional food practices, and indigenous skills — was gradually fading, she envisioned a place where these traditions could be preserved, celebrated, and passed on to future generations.
Her inspiration was also rooted in the need to connect travellers to real Ugandan experiences beyond typical conventional tourism, while at the same time creating opportunities for local communities, artisans, and farmers to benefit from cultural tourism.
Ewaffe — meaning "ours" in Luganda — was founded on a simple but powerful belief: Uganda's cultural richness deserves to be celebrated, preserved and shared with the world. What began as a community gathering space has grown into a nationally recognised cultural tourism destination.
Located in Naggalama, Mukono, with a branch in Entebbe, we work with local farmers, artisans, performers and storytellers to offer experiences that are authentic, educational and joyful.
